President Nancy Kretz
Kretz -- continued
For me, my heart smiles when I see PD folks dancing (or exercising in any form) or making the effort to attend a Support Group or an educational Conference and helping others. I’m proud to be of service to the Parkinson community!
How did you become involved with PANC?
Knowing I was looking for a volunteer position to support folks dealing with a chronic illness, Dr. David Dozier, PANC’s Medical Advisor and Board member, invited me to sit in on a meeting of the Parkinson Association of Northern California’s Board. It was meant to be ~ I started serving on the Board in May 2014.
What is your involvement as a PANC Board member?
Initially, I served as corporate Secretary and in April 2015, was elected to serve as PANC’s President. As volunteers, the Board worked to strengthen the legal and operational structure of the organization. While I’m mindful of regulatory and compliance issues, I’m also very involved with our many programs, such as the Respite and Rebuilding Together subsidy programs, our annual educational conference, the quarterly newsletter and the newly developing ParkinsonWISE® program. Of course, fundraising and program growth are high priorities as well.
